Big Bam 2022

June 15-16th, 2022Waynesville

Big Bam Missouri’s premier cycle across Missouri event is scheduled for June 12-18th. The Route follows along Historic Route 66 From Joplin to Eureka. Cyclists from around the country will overnight in Pulaski County, with the Big Bam Basecamp located at the Waynesville City Park. Riders will arrive early morning, departing the morning of June 16th.

Waynesville Basecamp – June 15th

Pulaski County is excited to welcome the return of Big Bam riders to the Waynesville City Park, which lies along the banks of the Roubidoux River. This spacious park offers plenty of shade, camping areas, a walking trail, a splash park, and easy access to the river for a quick dip to cool off.

One block from the park is downtown Waynesville. A picturesque community offering unique restaurants, shopping, attractions, massage studios, and nightlife. “Must do’s” are the Downtown Historic Walking Tour, selfies at the 8-foot Route 66 Shield, and the Waynesville interactive mural. A visit to the National Park Service Trail of Tears Memorial to learn more about the tragic tale of the Cherokee. The Roubidoux Spring, featuring a boardwalk and underwater cave.

Area eateries offer up International flavors of German and Asian fare. Try out the Sauerkraut pizza or the delicious fresh ground burgers. Local watering holes include delicious coffees, local brews, and an opportunity to choose from over 66 beers on tap. Local sweets include honey ice cream and delectable bakery items.

As you depart the Waynesville Basecamp watch for; W.H. Croaker, a huge boulder painted like a frog overlooking the Route on your left. Breakfast eateries along Route 66 throughout St. Robert. Route 66 roadside attraction with 100’s of selfie opportunities and world-famous fudge. The picturesque Devils Elbow community and 1923 bridge.
