A Home Town Place
A visit to Dixon is pure hometown. Located on Highway 28 just 13 miles north of I-44, Dixon began as a railroad boomtown in 1869 and soon became a commerce community.

On your way, stop and enjoy the scenic view of Portuguese Point at the Point Steakhouse. Dixon's downtown square still feels like a down-home place where early settlers came for supplies and to sell their wares.

Spend some time browsing the local antique stores or picking seasonal fruits and vegetables from the berry and pumpkin farms. Festivals and events provide endless entertainment for the entire family with the Dixon Blue Grass Music Festivals over Memorial and Labor Day weekends and the annual Dixon Cow Days Festival the third weekend in September, featuring crafts, music, family fun activities and the chance for one lucky visitor to win a cow.
