Veterans Recognition in Pulaski County, Missouri

Pulaski County Missouri, is one of those special places that no matter what time of year, is truly a Welcome Place in America’s Heartland. This is even more evident in November as we celebrate our military veterans. From banners on display in Downtown Waynesville to several other veteran memorials, Pulaski County, the first Missouri county to honor Purple Heart Veterans, and home of Fort Leonard Wood, has several sites and events that pay homage to the American Military Veteran.

There are several restaurants in the area that offer military discounts year-round, but some will add a special military discount or offer a special meal just on Veteran’s Day. The St. Robert American Legion Post 331 is having a special Veteran’s Day Breakfast on November 11th from 7 am – 9 am. Be sure to check with other local restaurants in the area to see which ones are having specials for veterans.

The Waynesville St. Robert Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the Veteran’s Day Parade and Ceremony beginning at 11 am on November 11th at the Saint Robert Municipal Center, with the parade to step off from the municipal center promptly after the ceremony.

Trail of Heroes Flag Display

The Armed Services YMCA’s Trail of Heroes will be on display from November 10th  – 13th at the USO Chimney & Historical Monument, 803 VFW Memorial Drive, Saint Robert. The “Field of Heroes” is an opportunity for us all to honor those that we consider our HEROES. Your hero may be a service member currently serving our country, veteran, firefighter, police officer, EMT, or maybe it’s your grandfather. This unique flag display will be arranged in precision rows and the public is invited to walk through the Field and spend some time amongst the reverence being paid to our heroes. Photos are permitted.
