Pulaski County Signature Events Listed in Red
September 9th: Crocker Railroad Days A celebration of Crocker’s railroad heritage with a Railroad Parade & Float Contest, Live Music, Cutest Baby Contest, Railroad Days Pageant, Mid MO Car Show, Greased Pig Chase, Farmers Market and Street Party! The festivities begin at 8 am, parade begins at 11 am, and the street party begins at 8 pm. All events in Downtown Crocker, MO 65452 Free event, but some activities require a fee.
September 9th: Patriot Day Festival 10 am - 4:30 pm An all-inclusive, community wide gathering, providing a family fun day to focus on patriotism, music, fellowship, and community, as we remember the tragic events which took place September 11th, 2001. The festival will include a remembrance area, many free activities for families including face painting, bounce houses, pony rides, petting zoo, music and more. Event Time Change → September 11th: 9/11 Tribute: A Community of Heroes 12 pm An event honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001 and celebrating our own Community of Heroes. First Responders from across the region will participate in a physical fitness tribute challenge. There will be static displays and equipment for children and families to see. Roubidoux Park in Waynesville, MO 65583 This is a free event.
September 15th & 16th: Dixon Annual Cow Days Fall Festival Celebrate Dixon’s heritage at this two-day festival! Mullet and Hot Dog Eating contests, live music, food & craft vendors, bounce houses, kid's activities, and live entertainment! Parade and karaoke on Saturday too, even a chance to win a cow! Beginning at 12 pm on Friday and 9:30 am on Saturday. Downtown Dixon, MO 65459 Free event, but some activities require a fee.
September 22nd thru 24th: Route 66 Hogs & Frogs Festival A three day event full of activities. Friday the fun begins with the Miss Croaker Pin-Up Girl Contest followed by live music. Saturday is the Power Racing Series, Hogs and Frogs Cooking Contest, Veteran’s MC Bike Games, and Frogapalooza. This family friendly event has a kids activity area and much more! September 8th & 9th: 44th Annual Retiree Appreciation Days Event times vary Several events over two days including a bus tour of the post, a retirement ceremony, lunch in an Army dining facility, a retiree dinner, a town hall, and a health and benefits fair and expo. All events on post at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO 65473 Some events require registration.
September 10th: Kickapoo Trace Muzzleloaders Black Powder Shoot 1:30 pm – 4 pm Weapons shoot is open to the public and is restricted to muzzleloader guns, rifles, pistols or smooth bore, percussion or flintlock, and knife and hawk throw may also be available. 16490 Cracklin Drive, Dixon, MO 65459. Shooting requires a fee.
EVENT CANCELLED → September 12th: Tigirlily Gold Live 7 pm - Midnight Sister duo Tigirlily Gold have been playing music together since they could walk, and after moving to Nashville, they developed a performance style that’s not only captivating and fun, but shows just how much entertaining is in their blood. September 13th: Merriwether & Culpepper Circus The circus is coming with two unique shows full of excitement to raise funds for Crocker Community Park improvements. Two shows to choose from 5:00 pm or 7:30 pm at Crocker Community Park in Crocker, MO 65452. Tickets required.
September 14th - 17th: GAEA Goddess Gathering A four day all women’s festival. Keynote speaker, workshops, music, and shopping. Pulaski County Shrine Club at 26920 Shrine Rd in Waynesville, MO 65583 Entrance fee required.
September 15th - 17th & 22nd - 24th: Inn Cognito A live theater play by Craig Sodaro show is rated PG. Showtimes on Fri & Sat begin at 7:30 pm and Sunday shows begin at 2:30 pm Theater on the Square at 312 Old Route 66 East in Waynesville, MO 65583 Tickets required.
September 16th: US Powerlifting Association Red, White and Blue Powerlifting Championships 2023 9 am - 5 pm Come see some strength on display at this bar raising event! The Ark Community & Sports Center at 25625 Highway 17, Waynesville, MO 65583
September 16th & 17th: Extremicon A two-day Comicon with a combination of artists, authors, comic books, cosplay, celebrity guests, and even a pet cosplay contest! All events at Saint Robert Community Center, 114 JH Williamson Jr. Drive in Saint Robert, MO 65584 Tickets Required.
September 29th: Dixon FFA Tractor Pull 6 pm - midnight An action-packed night of pulling including Street Diesel Pickups 8000lbs, Super Street/Street Stock 6200lb, Pro Street 6200lb, Pro Stock 6200lb, 2.6 Diesel 8000lb and Hot Stock/Street stocks. Gates open at 5 pm and pulling begins at 6 pm. Event held at Dixon High School, 300 E. High School Drive in Dixon, MO 65459 Ticket Required.
September 30th: Beer, Bark, & BBQ 4 pm - 8 pm Help support Loving Paws Adoption Agency at this event with great BBQ, music, auctions and more! 484 Saint Robert Outer Road in Saint Robert, MO 65584 Ticket required.
Seasonal Fall Fun!
September 16, 23, & 30 thru October 28th: on select dates Haunted River Float Venture on the half mile float on the haunted river in the dark and then explore the haunted trial and forest to find the haunted house. Mid-Missouri's most horrifying haunt is back for an 8th season with new scenes, an expanded trail, and more monsters than ever before! The scare begins at 8 pm – 11 pm 25238 Raleigh Road in Waynesville, MO 65583 Entrance fee required.
Museums
Every Saturday: Old Stagecoach Stop Museum 10 am - 4 pm The oldest building in Pulaski County built by W.W. McDonald in the mid 1850's and contains 10 rooms of history that have been restored to a different significant period in building's past. 106 Lynn Street in Waynesville, MO 65583 Busses, groups, and other visitors are welcome by appointment. Entrance is free but donations are appreciated.
Every Saturday: 1903 Pulaski County Courthouse Museum 11 am - 4 pm (Museum closed September 9th) Local Pulaski County History Museum containing local history exhibits, original courtroom, displays of Trail of Tears, Civil War, WWI, WWII, collection of cameras, quilts and antiques. 303 Historic Route 66 E. in Waynesville, MO 65583 Entrance is free, but donations are appreciated.
Special Opening for Railroad Days, September 9th: Frisco Depot Museum Displays representing the history of the Frisco Railroad and featuring local collections of railroad memorabilia. Also open for groups by special arrangement. 109 10th Street in Crocker, MO 65452 Free Admittance
Farmers Markets and Other Reoccurring Events
Every Saturday: Pulaski County Farmers Market* 8 am - 12 pm This weekly, year round market features fresh produce, baked goods, locally roasted coffee, tea, live plants, crafts, pet items, kid vendors and other home-made goods. Local authors, special vendors & food trucks vary by season. Farmers Market Pavilion, near the Roubidoux Spring Campground in Waynesville, MO 65583 *Vendors and product availability dependent on weather and other factors.
September 2nd: Buckhorn Route 66 Swap Meet Set up & shopping begins at 6:30 am and swap meet runs until vendors are done selling. A unique swap and shop environment, you never know what you’ll find, vendors vary each swap meet! Located near the Interstate Plaza, right off I-44 at exit 163 and Route 66 in Waynesville, MO 65583
Farmer Market Canceled for September 23rd September 9th & 23rd: Crocker Farmers Market* 9 am - 1 pm This farmers market features only handmade, homegrown or up-cycled items with food and beverage vendors on site and food trucks on occasion. Crocker Community Park under the blue pavilion in Crocker, MO 65452 *Vendors and product availability dependent on weather and other factors.
