The City of Waynesville held a Grand Opening for its newest addition to the Roubidoux Park, the National Fitness Campaign Fitness Court! The Fitness Court is located in the center of Roubidioux Park, 105 North Street, in the heart of Waynesville, Missouri.
The Fitness Court brings world class outdoor fitness free to cities across America. Featuring 7 functional training zones, thousands of bodyweight exercises and digital programming for adults of all ages and abilities. The Fitness Court is redefining outdoor fitness in communities across the nation.
Waynesville was fortunate enough to be the recipient of 1 of the municipality grants from the National Fitness Campaign. Waynesville is now 1 of only 300 municipal fitness courts across the United States! In addition to the fitness opportunities, the beautiful and historic mural on the fitness court is a “must-do” photo spot for Route 66 travelers and other visitors to our area. The Roubidoux Park is home to the Splash Park, Little Heros Playground, Amphitheatre, the National Park Service Trail of Tears concrete, walking trail, Roubidoux Streatery, numerous pavilions, and restroom facilities. The public may also easily access Roubidoux Creek, known for trophy trout fishing. Numerous events are held year-round which includes key events such as the Cave State Cruisers Car 2-day show the third weekend in June, Old Settlers Days – 2-day event the last weekend in July, and Route 66 Hogs and Frogs held the third weekend in September.
