Fort Leonard Wood is home to the Army's Maneuver Support Center which trains over 80,000 engineering, chemical defense and military police enlisted soldiers each year. Named after General Leonard Wood, an Army surgeon, the post opened in 1941. The drive takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes to enjoy over 30 historical sites and more than 600 gravestones. Allow additional time to enjoy the museums, trails and parks.
